What is exactly is this ride and why?

I am planning on leaving on May 14th from Jamestown, CA and taking 6 days to travel the 3000+ miles. Along the way, I am planning to only sleep at VFW's...with my sleeping bag, tent and MRE's...because that is how we roll in the military!! I just finished medical school and unemployed...so, what better time to raise awareness of the closeness that our country once had and the reasons for why we enjoy this free country. There will also be a pair of empty military boots on my back seat...this is in memory of the hereos that aren't able to be able to enjoy my family and country. Yes, I myself am a wounded warrior and this ride will be a little challenging, but remember the old saying...there is always someone worse off than you!! All wanting to, may contact me through this blog and I will try to respond back ASAP. This is not about one man...but instead the strength and courage of all involved....living and deceased. Getting Nervous and Excited

it is now thrusday...two days until my once in a lifetime ride!!!!  Many individuals have been a part of this ride. Can't believe my wife and I started planning this only 5 weeks ago!!  Picking up my MREs later today after work, changing the oil on my bike, going over my bike with mechanics, doing a final pack, tring to figure out the helmet cam donated by wps (thanks Clay...God Bless).  Had a scare today with the 3 yr old taken to hospital by ambulance, but he is tough and back at home.  Tring to spend the most of my time with the family and get ready at the same time!!!!  Hopeing and praying to raise American spirits and get donations for my organizations.  Even had to endure a write up in the local paper!!!  Getting worried to leave my wife and kids for two weeks but is worth the sacrifice.  Everytime I think of leaving my family it breaks my heart to not be here with them but then I remember how we (the veterans constantly are away from their loved ones) do what we do for our country, our family and our loved ones.  God Bless everyone that reads this!!! 4. I challenge everyone who visits to donate to the cause and to Brians Charities. $5, $10 or whatever you can afford. This man is helping many by doing this ride. He is bringing much needed awareness to our Veterans, especially those young Warriors coming home today after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thanks,

    Gunny Cole
