What is exactly is this ride and why?

I am planning on leaving on May 14th from Jamestown, CA and taking 6 days to travel the 3000+ miles. Along the way, I am planning to only sleep at VFW's...with my sleeping bag, tent and MRE's...because that is how we roll in the military!! I just finished medical school and unemployed...so, what better time to raise awareness of the closeness that our country once had and the reasons for why we enjoy this free country. There will also be a pair of empty military boots on my back seat...this is in memory of the hereos that aren't able to be able to enjoy my family and country. Yes, I myself am a wounded warrior and this ride will be a little challenging, but remember the old saying...there is always someone worse off than you!! All wanting to, may contact me through this blog and I will try to respond back ASAP. This is not about one man...but instead the strength and courage of all involved....living and deceased. Getting a Little Nervous

We are in the single digit number of days until the Anderson Jr. run from Modesto to Jamestown and then the start of my "little" ride.  I got my hands on the Flyers that Bruce from Alpha Graphics in Modesto did for me.  I spread those across the area and I am starting to come out of my shell and know I have to get press coverage if I am going to make this once in a lifetime ride to be what I invisioned.  It was hard for me to sit down with a reporter today but I must understand that it is much bigger than me. A lot of people have had their part of helping me along the way.  Just need to get my overnight stays down-packed, get the maintance of my bike taken care of, make sure personal "orders" are done, working on my RT liconse and starting a new job....I guess I'm a little busy but, life is too short and God likes to keep me on my toes!!  With how world events have taken place this week, my ride to ground zero, washington and arlington seem much more important than ever!!!  In God We Trust!!

Run, but you can't hide...

This is a wonderful night for our country.  The joy, cheers, patriotism and the proud feeling to be an American is what I love and why I will be doing this ride.  I smile when I saw the proud Americans waving our flag.  From the beginning of planning this ride I know that God has had his hand in my works and this huge "justice" for the Americans that lost their lives during the 9/11 attacks, the service members that scarificed all, the vets that will never be the same, the families that have struggled....you all will be in my prayers and mind...now, during the ride, and until I pass from this world.  To everyone that struggles with sympathizing with a veteran's pride and honor for their country...tonight, how proud you feel for our accomplishment (exterminating a terroist like this) is what runs through our veins....bottom line!!!  God bless to all that read this post and remember...."In God We Trust"

delayed posting

well, it has been awhile since I have published a post....my son is in a nearby children's hospital with pneumonia, dehydration, etc.  This is a bi-yearly hospital visit that we have become used to with him being born premature and with respiratory problems.  Even with my ride two weeks away, being nervous and concerned about raising donations...I see the strength and courage in my 3 year old that I wish half of Americans obtained.  The courage and  strength to push on...to survive and become a better person....do we as American citizens have the courage, strength and faith to do the same?  Maybe for me personally, that is why I ride for warriors that can't....to be able to profess my patriotism for my country and the values it was founded on...during hard times, I know our country has the ability to regain it's glamour and honor as we once were...not just the world's pin cushion but, instead a country with the integrity and honor to lead in a positive manner, not world-wide janitoral service.  Will promise to update more after recovering from 3 days of no sleep.  GOD BLESS TO ALL AMERICANS
